Job Description:
In this position you will develop, simulate, and optimize complex toolpaths using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA) to manufacture high-precision, complex-geometry parts.
Key duties include: creating setup sheets, selecting tooling, designing fixtures, and verifying programs via simulation (e.g., Vericut) to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming & Optimization: Generate 5-axis CNC code for complex parts, reducing cycle times and improving part quality.
- Software Utilization: Use CAD/CAM software to create, simulate, and verify toolpaths.
- Setup & Technical Support: Develop detailed setup instructions, including work-holding strategies, tool selection, and fixture design.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot machining issues, perform test runs (first article inspection), and adjust programs as needed.
-
Collaboration & Compliance: Work with engineering and production teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards and, if applicable, AS9100 quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
-
Experience: 5+ years of experience in multi-axis CNC programming and precision machining.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level knowledge of CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Siemens NX, etc.) and familiarity with machine controls (Fanuc, Siemens).
- Interpretation: Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
-
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to handle complex geometries and machining challenges.
