Job Description:
Job Overview:
Long stable business for 45 years that makes interesting products. Additionally, we have been employee owned since 2015, so employees get stock in the company every year that goes towards their retirement (in addition to 3% 401k contribution regardless of what they put in). We try to stress that ownership mentality of if you see something that can be done better, say something. If you see a defect, say something/bring it up. We want people to have a sense of ownership/responsibility towards what they are doing not just do their small part and pass it on to the next step.
Responsibilities:
The potential candidate would be doing a mix of things instead of the same things over and over.
- There would be 2 welders and 1 welders assistant to be supervised. Depending on the candidate maybe this part could be delayed until they are more experienced.
- They would make smaller/lower volume parts on a mixed of a Bridgeport (Acu-Rite or hand controls, 3 axis), table saw, band saw, chop saw, sanders etc.). They would also operate a large 4 axis CNC router (3 feet x 45 feet). Programing of this is not required/we can train on the router. Being able to set up and run the Bridgeport is essential however (square up the vice, find the edge etc.)
- We operate from 7-3:30 with a 30 minute lunch at either 12 or 12:30.
- If there are ideas for better ways to do things or organize things we are open to all of that.
- They would be responsible for general organization of the shop and monitoring inventory, as well as maintenance of shop equipment, vacuum pumps, air compressors, vacuums and buffers around the plant.
